On Monday the 1st of February I had a PAL session which was focussed around work placements and CV writing. We went through how are CV writing was going and also what type of placements we were looking for within the design industry. We were advised to start looking for placements as soon as possible and begin contacting companies making phone calls, sending emails and also letters. I found the tutorial very helpful and gained motivation to improve my CV and begin looking for placements.

On Tuesday the 2nd of February I had a second Flash tutorial which still focussed on the basics of flash but extended the learning much more. I learnt how to take an object and convert it into a movie clip in order for it to be tweened and developed into moving imagery. We also went over the type of images to use within the program and also what video files to use with the program. We also built a figure from illustrator objects taken from blackboard and tweened the figure. The session was very informative and allowed me to gain a greater insight into flash.

On Wednesday the 3rd of February I started off the day with a Flash Tutorial, learning about how to create buttons and how to use the correct action script in order to make them function. I began by creating 5 new key frames and creating a different shape in each one. I then created a new layer with no key frames which I would use for the action script. I also created another for the navigation of the buttons. I then added in text in the navigation layer and began converting them to symbols, selecting button. I was able to alter the different states of the button, changing the up, over, down and hit states. I then began adding in the relevant code in the script layer, allowing the buttons to link to the correct frames. Overall I felt the tutorial was very helpful and allowed me to experiment further with the use of buttons and also the action script used.
